CT-CMSA Message from the Past President
September 2010
|
On behalf of the officers and board of directors of the Connecticut Chapter of the Case Management Society of America, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the new CT-CMSA website.
As you can see, we have updated our website name “www.cmsact.org” as well as our look. Please refer to our calendar of events to find the schedule of CEU programs for the remainder of the year. We will be adding new features as the year progresses and we ask for your patience as some of the web tabs are still under construction. It is time to plan for the CT-CMSA election of Officers and Board for next year. I hope to present the proposed slate for the Officers and Board at the September CEU and dinner meeting. The current leadership will also be soliciting volunteers for our various chapter committees. Please contact any one of the chapter leaders if you are interested in volunteering as a Chapter Leader or committee member. Your time commitment will be approximately 1 hour per month.Your organization needs you. Five service scholarships were awarded this year to defray the costs of attendance at the national CMSA conference. The chapter was well represented and all attendees had a magical time. The sessions on health care reform and the increased role technology will play in future case management activities were thought provoking and a bit scary. Vendor contacts were made and opportunities for CEU programs for 2011 explored. The organization will be posting a survey on the website to obtain your suggestions and ideas for programs in the coming year. I am pleased to announce that The Centers For Medicare and Medicaid Services Boston Regional Office has invited several members of the executive team to participate in a one-day meeting titled “Collaboration Across the Continuum of Care to Enhance Patient Safety.” At our September meeting, I will update the membership about this collaboration opportunity. Finally, I would like to thank the officers and board for all their support. It is a privilege to work with such dynamic women. Respectfully, Maureen Fiore, R.N., CCM Past President CT-CMSA |
